A Little About Me
A longtime Taoist/ Buddhist raised with Eastern philosophies by parents immersed in ecology, Alexandra Sokol has an extensive and unique background that includes an early career as a professional Ballet/Modern Dancer, Master Massage & Bodywork Therapist, and a mid-life career change into the Environmental Sciences with a focus on human habitats and resilience. She is a polymath with a scholastic background in Applied Environmental Anthropology & Tribal Communities, Environmental Sustainability & Disaster Mitigation, Human Habitat and Eco Interior Design, plus a passion for environmental psychology and movement, Alexandra's life as an always curious unconventional researcher has walked some extraordinary parallel paths. Along with her environmental career, she has trained in multiple somatic modalities including kinesiology, vinyasa-yin-restorative yoga, somatic movement & release techniques, Feldenkrais, Alexander Technique, movement and dance therapies, Eurythmy, Wellsprings realignment technique, mindfulness and guided meditation. She is also a Yoga International certified Instructor, CMT & Master Bodywork Therapist, Shinrin-Yoku Forest Therapy Guide, and has had a 20+ year career as an environmental sustainability and resilience expert focused on deep adaptation and human resilience.
